Dr. Joo’s practice at Yonge Forest Dental encompasses a comprehensive range of services, including general dentistry, preventive care, restorative treatments, cosmetic dentistry, and oral surgery procedures. Dr. Joo avoided going to a dental office due to a bad experience he had as a child. It wasn’t until he had one wonderful experience with a dentist that he realized this was what a dental care should be. Dr. Joo learned that one good experience is where it starts for someone to start overcoming their dental anxiety. He wants to provide the same experience to all his patients. Gentle approach and a keen focus on patient comfort, he strives to create a positive dental experience for every individual with different needs. Dr. Jessica Sze Wan Chau

Dr. Chau, originally from Hong Kong, received a multicultural education in Scotland and Ontario, graduating from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences. She then completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at University of Western Ontario. A passionate traveler and backpacker, Dr. Chau has participated in numerous volunteer mission trips to underserved communities in Paraguay and Guatemala. She is a food enthusiast who loves spending quality time with her two cats and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Dr. Chau places a high emphasis on patient care, delivering high-quality dental work in a safe and comfortable environment, ensuring that each patient receives the best dental care during their visit.

Alicia

Hygienist

Alicia is our Registered Dental Hygienist. She has over 10 years of experience in the dental field, being a Dental Assistant for 8 years, then upgrading her credentials and graduating with honours from the Dental Hygiene program at Georgian College in 2021. Alicia prides herself in providing quality care and the best education to her patients while also making them feel comfortable in the dental chair. Alicia enjoys spending quality time with her fiancé and son. She enjoys reading, traveling, adventures outdoors, trying new foods/recipes and football Sundays cheering on the Bills.

Sontae

Hygienist

As a Registered Dental Hygienist, Sontae takes pride in providing a welcoming and comfortable environment for every patient. Known for her personable and genuine nature, she strives to ensure that each visit is a positive experience. A perfectionist at heart, she enjoys working with her hands—whether crafting, crocheting, painting, or drawing—skills that complement her attention to detail in her dental work.

Outside of the office, Sontae enjoys exploring nature, hiking scenic trails, and visiting waterfalls with her beloved cockapoo never far behind. Family is a cornerstone of her life—she is both a proud big sister and little sister, cherishing the close bond she shares with her siblings. Having moved to Barrie three years ago, she feels incredibly grateful to have found her dental office home, where she continues to grow and connect with patients every day.

Nicole

Dental Assistant

Nicole is a certified level II dental assistant that graduated from Toronto college of hygiene and auxiliaries in 2015. Nicole loves to spend her time outdoor going 4 wheeling, boating, ice fishing, being at the family farm and spends lots of time at the family cottage on Georgian Bay with family and her recently rescued dog Joey.

Sophia

Dental Assistant

Sophia is a level II dental assistant that graduated from Medix College in 2023. On her free time she enjoys quiet time at home with her cat Injeolmi, trying out new food and cooking.

Stephanie

Customer Service/front Desk Administrator

Stephanie is the first person that you will find at the front desk eager to greet you. Stephanie is very thorough and enjoy offering her assistance where it’s needed. She loves to travel as it gives her appreciation for different points of view and ways of life. She is a big foodie, loves to cook and very open to trying new things… Especially if it’s spicy! On her spare time, she is usually spending time with friends and family.

Rossini

Receptionist

Rossini moved from Hong Kong to Barrie two years ago and immediately fell in love with this place. The people, the nature, the vibe… it’s in the air! She never get tired of cooking and cuddling her four cats. When you have family recipes or cats stories to share, don’t miss out on Rossini!
